Control of Nonconforming Product

Control of Nonconforming Product (SOP 83-01) establishes a standard method for documenting nonconforming product disposition and reprocessing. The key here is to prevent nonconforming raw materials, parts, components, in-process materials, and finished products from being inadvertently used. Just because you have nonconforming product doesn’t mean an automatic business loss. Look for ways to rework it, use for alternative applications, and return if possible to the vendor. Use Form 83-1, Nonconforming Product Record and Form 83-2, Nonconforming Product Tag to document nonconforming products.

Utilize statistical techniques for establishing, controlling, and verifying process capabilities and product characteristics per SOP 82-03, "Statistical Techniques".
Improvement

At the beginning of each calendar year, the management team (President/CEO, Quality Assurance, Administration, Sales/Marketing, Operations, Engineering) determines goals and objectives for improving your operations. Encourage personnel at all levels to provide ideas for improving products, processes, systems, productivity, and the work environment per SOP 85-01, Continuous Improvement and use Form 85-1, Improvement Suggestion Report to document improvement suggestions .
