SDLC – DOCUMENTATION

Testing of systems under development is not practical unless well-defined documentation exists. System documentation requirements are a classic problem associated with the development of any automated system.

Managers may find it appropriate to consolidate several requirements documents into a single document or move the actual documenting of requirements to an earlier place in the SDLC.

What is critical is that the purpose and use of the documents is achieved. The purpose and general content of each of the major development documents or types of documents are defined in the following paragraphs.
